editing and acquisitions
I have experience working in editorial and proofreading roles for international academic / university presses (Amsterdam University Press, Arc-Humanities Press, and Medieval Institute Publications). Presently, I acquire academic titles in the areas of Anglo-Saxon studies, queer medievalisms, and monster studies. I offer freelance copy-editing, proofreading, and other editorial services for theses, dissertations, proposals, academic articles and book-length manuscripts. Contact me to discuss the details of your project!
digital and social media
I have worked to build websites, blogs, create social media content and to manage multiple accounts for the Western Michigan University Graduate College and for Arc-Humanities Press / Medieval Institute Publications. While coordinating social media for the WMU Graduate College, I organized a workshop on social media branding for grad students, and collaborated with University Libraries and the Center for Humanities to offer seminars and presentations in the Digital Humanities.

academics and teaching
I hold a doctorate in English literature and an M.A. in medieval studies and have over ten years' experience working as a researcher, lecturer, and assistant professor at Michigan State University, Grand Valley State University, Western Michigan University, University of Michigan-Dearborn, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I have created and taught a variety of undergraduate humanities courses, using conventional and hybrid pedagogies.
research and writing
Generally, my research explores ideas of movement and stasis, home and exile in Old English poetry and culture, as well as representations of death in Anglo-Saxon and Old Norse literatures. My dissertation, Old English Ecologies: Environmental Readings of Anglo-Saxon Texts and Culture, is an interdisciplinary, environmentally-focused analysis of the place of the human within the natural world as depicted in Anglo-Saxon texts.
